The Sustainable Business Breakfast (SBB) Bristol aims to bring together key business people and NGO members - who are responsible for developing sustainable business practice in Bristol and the wider area. The UK Government launched Feed-in Tariffs in April 2010, to support the development of small scale, low carbon electricity generation â allowing homes and businesses to generate their own renewable electricity and to sell any excess energy back to the grid. This session will explain what the Feed-in Tariff is, how it rewards homes and businesses investing in microgeneration, and how you can benefit. The speaker: Chetan Lad, Policy Manager, British Gas New Energy Chetan is responsible for policy in microgeneration and energy efficiency. Prior to this, Chet worked in the Renewables Business Development team at Centrica Energy sourcing renewable electricity projects and power purchase agreements for British Gas. Chet has worked in the energy industry for nearly 10 years, beginning his career at Enron.

The Government is currently considering which sections of the Act will come into force in October.
