Employees with driving ambition
But when no fewer than 20 drivers from the same Gloucestershire company demonstrated their skills it was a cause for celebration.
The employees of Moreton C Cullimore, the Gloucestershire-based concrete, gravels and transport group, have all passed their NVQ Level 2 in LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) driving skills in the past year.
They underwent training and assessment with Stonehouse-based training specialist C&G Services.
The drivers included one young employee, Michael Baverstock, who earned his HGV licence at 18 under the Young Driver's Scheme.
The NVQ certificates were presented by Moreton C Cullimore's managing director Roger Cullimore last Tuesday at the firm's offices in The Perryway, Frampton-on-Severn.
The ceremony was also attended by Mike Farmer, regional director of the Road Haulage Association, Sandra Tanner of Business Link and Bob Oldmeadow, managing director of C&G Services.
"These drivers have all had to demonstrate a wide range of skills to achieve their NVQs," said Bob Oldmeadow. "The skills they have to master to drive safely are not always appreciated, but we believe these certificates will give them some of the recognition they deserve."
