A CHARITY which helps blind and visually impaired people in the Forest of Dean is set to get a boost from a major supermarket.

Sainsbury's Gloucester Quays has chosen the Forge as its charity of the year.

The Forge Centre, based in Cinderford, provides a wide range of services to blind and visually impaired people.

Support officer at Forge Jenny Green said: "Working with Sainsbury's Gloucester Quays is a great opportunity for people to find out about Forge and to gain support from a wider community.

"We are so pleased that our members have nominated us and that we were chosen to be the store's charity of the year."
