A lifelong fan of Bristol Rovers had a double dose of luck at the club’s annual sponsorship draw.

Graham Masarik, owner of Eurocams in Weston-super-Mare, had his number called out for both the home-shirt sponsor and elevated advertising worth £5,000.

It is the fifth year that Bristol Rovers have run the raffle through stadium manager Ian Holtby. The club first had the idea after failing to gain sufficient sponsorship in 2009.

Companies are given the opportunity of sponsoring the home and away kits by buying raffle tickets at £1,000 each. This year the club sold 80 tickets, raising £80,000.

Rovers’ manager John Ward made the draw at the Dribuild Suite at the Memorial Stadium on Friday.

Harry Stoke-based company Highspec Travel Services won the right to sponsor the away shirt.

CR Windows of Kingswood secured perimeter advertising worth £3,000 and Thatchers won a full page of advertising in the club programme.

Mr Masarik, whose company supplies engine components, said: “I have supported Rovers since I was a kid and there is a strong Gashead contingent in Weston. I entered the draw because I wanted to support the club. I was delighted when my numbers were called out.”
