An innovative thru-glass interactive touch screen is set to be one of the star attractions at Technology Day in Cheltenham on 3 February (http://www.commercialevents.co.uk).

The technology, which is used extensively in the US and mainland Europe, has been virtually unheard of in the UK until now.

It enables businesses to turn a previously unused flat surface - such as a window - into a screen that can be manipulated and interacted with like a computer.

Marketers and retailers are particularly excited by the potential of the technology to enhance displays and presentations with interactive content.

A shop window can easily be transformed into a store guide or product catalogue, and it can also be used for placing orders.

Technology Day, hosted by Commercial IT Services, will enable businesspeople in the South West to experience the technology first hand.

"The thru-glass interactive touch screen is a truly dynamic tool," says Alastair Adams, Director at Commercial IT Services.

"Everybody who sees it has a different idea about how it could help their business - it's very versatile and brings lots of new possibilities for engaging with customers."

Screens can be created up to 80 inches diameter and they can be teamed up with a sound pod to further enhance the customer experience.

Technology Day will be held on 3 February 2010 at Cheltenham Racecourse. Attendance is free of charge for public and private sector organisations who want to learn about new ways to enhance their IT.

Further information about the event is available at http://www.commercialevents.co.uk/. Commercial IT Services is a division of the business services group Commercial Limited.
