Award-winning Bath pub goes on sale as owner retires

The Wheelwrights Arms pub in Monkton Combe has gone on sale after the owner announced plans to retire.

David Munn, who took over the Wheelwrights Arms 12 years ago, is selling the lease of the award-winning pub with rooms.

The venue, which featured in the 2018 Michelin Guide and Good Pub Guide, has seven bedrooms, bar restaurant, large car park and a beer garden.

David said: “This has been a difficult decision to make given the ongoing success of the Wheelwrights Arms, which for over twelve years we have continually strived to improve and create the business it is today.

"Having achieved this, now is the time for a new owner who can grow the business further.”

Kevin Conibear, divisional director at Fleurets, which is managing the sale, added: “David and his team have created a superb and consistent business at the Wheelwrights Arms, which is located in a highly sought after area.

"The trade mix of bar, restaurant and letting rooms is likely to appeal to a range of operators.”

Fleurets is inviting leasehold offers for the Wheelwrights Arms.
