Bath curry house Rajpoot win parliamentary cup for best in South West

A Bath curry house has won a parliamentary award as the best in the South West.

The Rajpoot is one of 13 restaurants from around the country to make the final of the Tiffin Cup, held each year to find the UK's best South Asian restaurant.

The eatery in Argyle Street missed out on the top prize but received the best in the South West award at the House of Commons grand final on July 12, attended by celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott.

The Tiffin Cup winner is chosen from a list of restaurants that have been nominated by local MPs. This year 70 restaurants were put forward.

Bath MP Ben Howlett said: "It was a pleasure to see the Rajpoot awarded the best in the South West at the Tiffin Cup.

"This is no more than the team at the restaurant deserve for all their hard work and great food.

"This annual event is always very competitive amongst MPs whilst also a significant charity fundraiser. We can all be proud of the Rajpoot."
