Bristol and Bath Women in Business awards: The category list in full

The Bristol and Bath Women in Business Awards are now open for entries.

The awards are run by the Bristol Post, Bath Chronicle and South West Business in association with the Unviversity of the West of England.

Here is the full list of categories...

Outstanding Contribution to Business in Bristol & Bath, sponsored by UWE Bristol

A woman who has made a considerable, profitable and lasting contribution to business in Bristol and Bath. Judges will be looking for evidence of this individual’s long-term contribution to the development of the business community.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year

A woman who has made a significant contribution to the company they run or work in. Their personal contribution to growth will be key.

Mentor of the Year

A woman who has gone the extra mile in supporting a colleague, entrepreneur or business and has made a difference to the development of that individual or organisation.

Business of the Year, sponsored by Close Brothers Asset Management

A profitable business with a female owner of high percentage of women on the senior management team. Judges will be interested in innovative products, services and processes as well as expansion into new markets and different areas of business activity.

Contribution to the Community, sponsored by The Mall, Cribbs Causeway

The woman or company which can show the difference it has made to its community in the calendar year.

Award for Outstanding Management and Leadership

A manager or leader who has shown exceptional vision and leadership in business. Could be running the business, department or team. Judges will want to know about your leadership style.

Female Apprentice of the Year

Judges will be looking for entries which showcase the impact a female apprentice has had on the organisation they work for, as well evidence of personal self-development and progression.

Award for Innovation, sponsored by Spire The Glen, Bristol

A business that has introduced a new product, process, invention, idea, or design that has made a significant contribution to the business and has a female owner/s or a high percentage of females on the senior management team.

New Business of the Year

Open to all businesses that have started trading since January 2014 and principal trading base is in Bristol and Bath area with either woman/women owners or a female head of the company.

Customer Service Award, sponsored by GWR

The woman who has provided the best customer service. This person will be seen to be regularly going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their customers receive excellent service.

Home-Based Business of the Year

Businesses must be based out of the business owner’s home and be run by a woman.

Woman of the Year

A woman who has made a significant contribution to the success of the company they run or in which they are employed. The judges will also wish to hear about the personal qualities that have made them/you successful including activities outside their/your business life.
