Refugee settlement organisation with office in Bristol scoops national award

More than 1,200 business leaders, politicians and media representatives gathered at Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night (14 November), as the winners of the 2017 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards were revealed at the 16th annual gala dinner ceremony.

Refugee resettlement service Ashley Community Housing, which has an office in Bristol, was among the list of winners, scooping the Social Impact Award in recognition of its work.

The event, which was hosted by the BBC’s Naga Munchetty, saw Olympic distance runner Sir Mo Farah (pictured) and secretary of state for international trade Liam Fox speaking.

Jeff Greenidge, director of Ashley Community Housing, pictured right, said: “It’s great to have won a Lloyds Bank National Business Award tonight for the local work that we do in Bristol.

"It’s a great accolade because we work hard to achieve this award - the refugees and community organisers have really contributed to this award tonight too.”
