A cut above: Cheltenham salon chosen for London Fashion Week

Everyone who is anyone in the world of fashion and beauty hankers at some point after a spot at London Fashion Week – so to be handpicked to attend is no small deal.

Which is one of the reasons Cheltenham’s Laura Leigh Hair & Beauty is celebrating.

Two of its senior stylists, Laura Leigh and Jay Manton, have been chosen from hundreds of hair stylists across the country to work at the world-renowned event in the capital, set to run from Friday (February 17 and 21) to the following Tuesday.

The Gloucestershire duo were invited to audition for official London Fashion Week Sponsor Label M’s prestigious hair styling team in a live-styling session in London, and beat hundreds of other hair stylists from across the UK to the post to be selected to join.

“There’s no greater honour as a hair stylist than to be trusted with the hair at an event as prestigious in the fashion world as London Fashion Week- particularly when the competition is so incredibly tough,” said Laura Leigh, owner of Laura Leigh Hair & Beauty who looks to be continuing on from a successful 2016 which saw her not only win a gong at Gloucestershire Business Awards and get married to boot.

In all, Laura and Jay are set to work across 45 catwalk shows during fashion week, styling the hair of models for the likes of Henry Holland and Pam Hogg.

“It’s the first time that anyone from the salon has been chosen to work as a stylist at this event and we couldn’t be more proud to be attending, representing the Cheltenham hair scene amongst true giants of the hair world from all over the UK.

“Jay worked incredibly hard to prepare for the audition and it certainly paid off- we simply can’t wait to get backstage!”
