The biggest business awards of their kind in the region – possibly the UK – have been launched targeting businesses across Gloucestershire.
A gathering of sponsors, guests and key business people gathered in Cheltenham for the official opening of entries for the regional media awards that are the Gloucestershire Business Awards 2017.
The Clarence Social bar on Clarence Parade – formerly the Gloucestershire Echo’s front counter – proved a fitting venue and it was standing room only.
Headline sponsor, business experts and accountants Randall & Payne led the call to arms to county firms to take part again in the race to take to the stage at the event later this year.
Jenny Eastwood, editor of the Gloucester Citizen and Gloucestershire Live, said: “By far the biggest event of the year has to be the one which takes place on October 5 at Cheltenham Racecourse.
“And as it is the 20th year we have staged the Gloucestershire Business Awards it will be a very special night.”
Fourteen awards will be presented at the awards ceremony at Cheltenham Racecourse’s Centaur arena on October 5.
Awards will include Business of the Year, sponsored by Randall & Payne, Small Business of the Year, Family Business of the Year (sponsored by Willans LLP Solicitors), Young Business of the Year, Young Business Person of the Year (sponsored by Renishaw), Export Award, Business Innovation (sponsored by University of Gloucestershire), Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best Place to Work (sponsored by Lucozade Ribena Suntory), Growth Business of the Year (sponsored by Gloucestershire College), Corporate Social Responsibility, Best Employee, Digital Business of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by QuoLux.
Sponsors making the awards night possible also include Completely Motoring, Santander and Harrison Clake Rickerbys.
