Business heroes are the toast of Stroud after a glittering awards ceremony last night.

The annual Stroud Life Business Awards celebrated the cream of the district's crop of entrepreneurs, from one man or woman operations, through to international players.

After a three course meal inside the big marquee at the Old Lodge on Minchinhampton Common, accolades were handed out to those judged by the Stroud Life panel to the best in their field - for the overall winner, quite literally.

“These awards are recognition for the hard work and dedication of our staff here at the park," said manager Stuart Burnell.

“Cattle Country Adventure Park continues to grow and we are committed to meeting the needs of our brilliant customers, whose feedback every day helps us to improve our activities and services here. We are now looking forward to a busy summer and welcoming people to the farm."

Category sponsors for the event were Sanctus, Bruton Knowles, Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET), Murrays, Stagecoach West, South Gloucestershire & Stroud College, Abbey Business Group, Renishaw, Stroud District Council.

Table centre sponsor was Paul Westley Opticians and the charity for the night was Allsorts Stroud which supports children with disabilities.

“I'm very grateful to all those who entered and I'm already looking forward to next year, which may contain a few surprises."
