Winners of the Gloucestershire Women of the Year Awards 2017

Winners of this year’s Gloucestershire Women of the Year Awards were announced and honoured at a glittering ceremony at Cheltenham Racecourse’s Gold Cup Suite.

From apprentices to chief executives, inspirational women working in the county were recognised at what has become one of Trinity Mirror Gloucestershire’s showpiece events – a fitting build up to the forthcoming Stroud Life Awards and the Gloucestershire Apprentice Awards

Hosted by the company’s Gloucestershire Echo, Gloucester Citizen and Stroud Life (and the websites and, the awards aim to celebrate the hard-working women of the county and inspire.

The awards were presented by Alex Lovell (pictured above), BBC Points West television presenter, and Sarah Pullen, managing director of Trinity Mirror Gloucestershire, publishers of this very newspaper as well as and

Ms Pullen said: “Gloucestershire is a great place to live and work. Statistics show it is continues to be a hotbed for start-up businesses and out soon to be published Top 100 Businesses magazine describes just how diverse the county is.

“This awards is about turning the spotlight on some of the extraordinary women here in Gloucestershire.”

Stacey Parrinder- Johnson (picture above), fund selection specialist at Investec Wealth & Investment, said the firm was "honoured to be the sponsor of the awards".

Other sponsors making the event possible included human resources and employment law specialists, HRML, Barclays, Peter Hickman Hairdressing, Laura Leigh Hair and Beauty, Smootheelicious (CORR), Clayton Dental and Completely Motoring.

The black tie event gave way to frequent cheers and rounds of applause as finalists were announced and winners invited to the stage to collect their awards.

Twitter became awash with comment, congratulations and pictures of celebration as guests championed their colleagues’ successes and marked the occasion through the social media channel (#GlosWomen2017).

Cries of ‘speech’ as Julia Moore, of Green Gourmet, came to the fore to collect her award for Creative Woman of the Year saw Ms Lovell encourage the chief executive of the Stroud-based business to say a few words.

“Thank you all so much, I am really honoured as this award is against some really stiff competition. I’m collecting this award for myself, but also for my team without whom none of this would be possible,” said Ms Moore, echoing the sentiments, no doubt, of many there on the night.

We will be giving the event full coverage in next Wednesday’s Business supplement in the Citizen and Echo along with a spread of images – some of the gallery we have also featured on-line on and

In the meantime, here are the winners from the awards, whose headline sponsor this year was Investec Wealth & Investment.
