Grand Pier invests £200,000 in new games to bring in the visitors

The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare has invested £200,000 for the second consecutive year in new family games for its Pavilion.

Bosses at the seaside attraction were delighted with visitor comments after the initial investment just over a year ago in new activities and decided to do the same again.

The new entertainment includes coin operated games such as Cops and Robbers which is a 2p roll down coin game, Wack and Win, a ticket redemption machines, a Transformers theatre video game and a Justice League pusher which is based around superheroes.

As well as this, there are two new air hockey machines which have already seen considerable use since their introduction.

General manager Tim Moyle said: “Our team has welcomed the opportunity to work on putting together the new stock in our Pavilion and to see the customer reaction to the new pieces.

“They are very excited that for the second year running, we have made such a strong investment in our Pavilion.

“We are in great shape for a good season. Last year the resort welcomed completely new visitors and we believe that as an attraction we showcased the best pier in the world to them.

“We hope that they will return to the resort and to our attraction this year too. We certainly had excellent feedback from their visit.”

In addition to the new pieces, the Grand Pier has invested in new prizes which complement the variety of films coming out this season.

Tim said: “We will continue to offer our unlimited ride wristbands on weekends and North Somerset school holidays and I think this, together with our kids eat free offer will continue to attract the return of our visitors and encourage new ones to try what we have to offer, to maintain our place as one of the South West’s must visit entertainment attractions.”

The Grand Pier has recently been awarded the 2016 National Coach Tourism Award Coach Friendly Visitor Attraction of the Year.
