Invitations have gone out for the next Get Connected Talks event due to be staged in Gloucestershire.

Billed as Connectivity and Infrastructure - what’s next for Cheltenham and Gloucester, the event will take a look at possible solutions to the broadband shortcomings facing business.

With on-line connectivity key to productivity and growth, the UK is said to be quickly falling behind the rest of Europe when it comes to broadband speeds. Parts of the country are struggling more than others – Gloucestershire being one of them.

Insight will come from experts Lorrin White, managing director at Cheltenham-based Bamboo, and Nick Gray, city development director at CityFibre.

The London-based AIM-listed business’s networks includes 28,000 public sites, 7,800 mobile masts, 280,000 businesses and four million homes.

The pair will present the outcome of their survey into the status of internet connectivity both locally and UK wide and discuss how new full-fibre networks could be the answer to our connectivity strains.

This will be followed by an open panel discussion with local businesses looking at the challenges they face in their sectors.

Due to take place on Wednesday, September 13, from 5.30pm until 7pm at Cheltenham Racecourse, The Panoramic Lounge, Cheltenham Racecourse Evesham Rd, Prestbury, Cheltenham GL50 4SH.

Host The Jockey Club is also promising to provide a complimentary drink on arrival for all and a cash bar thereafter for your convenience.
