Headline sponsors of one of the county’s best-loved awards events – run by this very newspaper group – has unveiled its partner charity of the year - another much-loved county institution.
County-headquartered legal experts WSP solicitors has announced Stroud-headquartered Meningitis Now as its partner charity this year.
The firm, which has offices in Stroud, Dursley, Nailsworth and Gloucester, has long been supporter of charities and prides its on being involved in the local community.
It remains the lead sponsor of the Stroud Life Awards, formerly the Stroud Life Business Awards, and is also the Platinum sponsorship of SoMAC, Gloucester’s Summer of Music, Arts and Culture.
Amber Deacon, marketing manager at WSP Solicitors, said: “We are firm believers in supporting local charities, and choose a different charity each year.
“All employees were asked to nominate local charities, and the three most popular were put to the vote - Meningitis Now came out as the top choice.”

The firm plan to raise money through everything from cake sales, sports events, and quiz nights.
As headline sponsors of the Stroud Life Awards, the firm also nominates the charity that benefits from monies raised at the awards on 29th June.
Harry Gardner, corporate account executive at Meningitis Now, said: “Support from local businesses is really important to us and forging good relationships is vital to helping the charity to raise awareness of meningitis.”
WSP solicitors was founded in 1758 and can boast royalty as clients, having acted on behalf of Queen Caroline when George IV tried to divorce her.
