Seven South West businesspeople named on 'exceptional leader' list

Business and community leaders from the South West have been named on a list of exceptional individuals who are driving growth in the region.

Grant Thornton UK announced the launch of its second Faces of a Vibrant Economy initiative today (8 November), which identifies 100 organisations and their leaders who are demonstrating excellence through growth, innovation and purpose.

The seven leaders on the list from the South West are:

  1. Dave Broadway, CFH Docmail (pictured)
  2. Juliet Davenport, Good Energy
  3. Ellen Green, Blue Badge Co
  4. Karime Hassan, Exeter City Council
  5. Bevis Watts, Triodos Bank
  6. Kalpna Woolf, 91 Ways to Build A Global City
  7. William Chase, Tyrrells and Chase Distillery

According to Grant Thornton, the seven business leaders from the South West are “inspirational leaders of some of the most exciting and dynamic organisations operating in the UK”.

Triodos Bank and CFH Docmail are embracing sustainability, while Good Energy has launched an apprenticeship scheme and Blue Badge Co has employed large numbers of people who are registered disabled or are a primary carer for someone with a disability.

Tim Lincoln, practice leader at Grant Thornton in Bristol, said: “It’s great to see such strong representation for the South West.

“Our Faces are exceptional leaders, driving positive results against a clearly defined purpose. Their commitment and passion makes us want to be like them, to work with them and to learn from them.

“These leaders show us how business can be a force for good in society, how creative approaches to public services and commitment to investing in your people can drive superior results and how passion, coupled with purpose and a great idea can change the world for the better.

“For our part, we are committed to continually building and connecting this network of inspirational leaders and their organisations, in the South West and across the UK, so that they can learn, share ideas, teach others and ultimately continue to grow for the benefit of our economy and society.

“By curating this community and sharing their stories we hope to inspire others to follow their example.”
