Tayntons Curry Club turns spotlight on Gloucester’s regeneration

The gathering speed of the regeneration of Gloucester was the hot topic at the latest Tayntons Curry Club.

City council leader Cllr Paul James was guest speaker at the event, attended by 70 business people, running through the developments now taking place all over Gloucester.

Cllr James said there were no fewer than 18 areas of regeneration within the city with a combined value of £125 million, not least the Kings Quarter scheme – promoted as “an important part of the regeneration jigsaw”.

“This is the year when it has all come together for Gloucester and we are seeing lots of activity on site,” he said. “We have come a long way as a city in our regeneration journey. There is a lot taking place at the moment, but as we all know, a lot still to do.”

Hosted by Tayntons Solicitors at the Veranda Restaurant at Gloucester Docks, the curry club meets six times a year and provides an opportunity for business people from the city to meet and network over lunch.

Chris Price, a partner at Tayntons, Clarence Street, Gloucester, said: “There really is an exciting feel about the regeneration of Gloucester at the moment. There are people coming from cities far and wide to see what we are doing here.

“It is fantastic to see all the regeneration activity taking place across the city and it really is a good time to do business in Gloucester.”
