Three lanes of M5 closed after crash this morning - traffic builds on surrounding roads

An accident has closed three lanes of the M5 this morning.

The motorway is blocked soutbound between junction 9 for Tewkesbury and junction 10 for Cheltenham.

This is as a result of the crash and fuel spillage.

Traffic is using the hard shoulder to get past the incident which happened at around 4.40am.

The Highways Agency has warned of long delays and traffic has been queuing on the motorway.

At one point, the entry slip round at junction eight for the M50 was also closed to help emergency services.

The incident is likely to cause long delays for motorists on surrounding roads this morning as well.
