College wins prize for use of technology
The National Star College, at Ullenwood, picked up the Specialist College award at the Next Generation Learning Awards.
The awards aim to reward technological excellence in the further education and skills sector.
Helen Sexton principal of the Star College, said: "The development of technology at National Star College has a significant life-changing impact upon learning, living and work outcomes for our students.
"They are learning the skills to use new technologies to become learners and enable greater contributions socially, in their work and in the community.
"This award recognises the work of our students and our staff, who, in working and learning together, have become 'next generation' learners in the use and development of enabling technology."
Stephen Crowne, chief executive of Becta, said: "The award winners provide inspiration for others to use technology and help prepare everyone for the future."
